I went back to hometown, Sungai Siput last weekend for QingMing.
QingMing is one of Chinese traditional yearly festival which started from the Zhou Dynasty (over 2500 years), people go to grave to sweep ancentors' tomb and pay respects.
QingMing is also called All Souls' Day.
Some of my relatives come back from different towns and gather to sweep our ancentors' tomb.
My father and my uncle (father's younger brother), and fewgrandchildren were clearing the wild grass around my grandfather's tomb.
There were meat, candy, steam bun, fresh fruit, wine, joss paper (金紙) accessories and etc presented as offering.
For more than 10 years, I have not joined this festival since I was away from hometown.
This was a remembrance and meaningful day to spend time with family and relatives.
Although day by day goes by, but the love, soul and connection would not go by.
In future, I will free myself from work to attend QingMing festival as possible as I can.
